Favourite Album.

Hey Gang, There's been a bit of a trend of late with bands playing classic albums live, Track by track, start to finish. Which ZZ album would you love to hear completely??
Me??? Would love to hear Tres Hombres completely. I realise some tracks off this album are a staple for the live shows, but I'd still love to hear the whole thing!!!

Anyone else got any ideas??? Or any other favourites by other artists??

Cheers from down under Craigo.

Eliminator and Rhythmeen for me. Eliminator has a guitar tone that still stands up today! All he songs were great and it was a strange mix of raw and refined at the same time.

Rhythmeen opened with 3 powerful and big songs, great groove, great tone, and HUGE sound. That disc is severely under-rated.

    Cheers!

I have been totally blown away by the new album, so much so that I reckon it is the best complete album they have ever done. There is not a single song on it that I feel like skipping. Every track is a winner. The sound of Billys voice is superb, as is his singing, heard to best effect on Over You. Dustys singing is superb throughout, especially on the "call and respond" and harmony parts in Heartache in Blue, not to forget his own lead vocal in Drive By Lover. Franks kitwork is as always the backbone of every song. The distorted mutated geetar and bass sounds are magnificent. The lyrics are unusually strong on this one, better than usual.

So...........if they ever come back to Ireland I would love to hear the new one in its entirety. Deguello would be the next on the list, with a brass section where appropriate of course.

My first ZZ album was called "First Album" purchased 30 yrs ago. Of course it would have to be on vinyl, but still in good nick, not too scratched up. Haven't heard it for years mind you, Cant remember all the tracks off the top of my head, used to thrash it and jam along with my imaginary guitar. This is before air guitar was know for what it is today, but lets face it we were, rippin it up on our air guitars before its widespread inception in it's figurative sense. Anyway some songs you may rem ember, some later found place on compilations, best Of's and live recordings, include 'Neighbor, Neighbor' , 'Somebody Else Been Shakin My Tree' , 'Francine' , 'Blue Jean Blues' and Beer Drinkers.... Classic early days, raw three piece, (no over dubs) Rockin, Boogie Woogie Style Texan Blues that inspired and shaped my playin and listening preverences.
