The drive for alternative energy sources has been greatly impacted by the hefty funding of solar panels resulting from the German Renewable Energy Act. The incentive towards renewable energy has been driven by the German Renewable Energy Act which has thoroughly funded the adoption of solar panels; helping to reduce the production price of photovoltaic (PV) panels. Efforts have been focused toward the development of renewable energy as a direct result of the subsidization of solar panels through the efforts of the German Renewable Energy Act. Outgrowths of this heavy funding include a conspicuous reduction in the supply price of photovoltaic panels. Germany hopes to have at least 35% of its electricity produced from green sources by 2020, with green energy making up over 80% of German energy use by 2050. A commitment of $2 billion annually toward green energy research has been laid out by the Germans in hopes of reaching its goals. All these factors have resulted in far-reaching positive results well beyond the German frontier regarding the global cost of PV panel components. Sacha Fontaine
