My wife and I spent the big $$$ for the Meet and Greet in Boise, Idaho. It felt like a shake down by Pablo the tour manager and his crew. Give us you money, no autographs, no handshakes, don't talk, you have 3 seconds to stand behind the 3 band members while we snap a photo and rush you out the back door. I was disgusted by the whole experience after enjoying a wonderful show in the front row then to be treated like that. On top of that, we witnessed one of the newbie crew members kick John Bolin out of the clubhouse along with their wives and family because they didn't have "Diamond" passes - what a crock. I felt bad for John after making all of Billy's guitars for almost 30 years to be treated like that. I'm sure if Billy had witnessed that, a few crew memebers would be looking for work Billy, Dusty and Frank need to know that this is how THEIR BIGGEST fans are feeling after the meet and greet. Pablo spent 5 minutes blowing his own horn about how long he had been their tour manager and how his policies, even though the band doesn't like them, are being supported. Save your money for good tickets and don't waste your time on Pablo and the meet and greet until Billy and the boys come out and make a statement about how they are going to do things different. At this point I would label it as a classless money grab. I don't even want the photo, because it doesn't mean anything to me after how we were treated. What means something to me, being a ZZTop fan since I was 12, is having the opportunity to look them in the eye, shake their hand and thank them for the inspiration they have provided to my own playing and the countless hours of enjoyment their music has provided to my soul.

It makes me sad to hear how some of ZZ Tops biggest fans, or at the very least, the fans who buy the meet & greets, are getting screwed over! The "word of mouth" is a very powerful tool of advertising! If one gets too many negative comments, it could have a serious and detrimental impact on a business. I'm a huge ZZ Top fan!! I've been going to their concerts since the early seventies when they were selling out big venues and putting on spectacular shows. I love their music and I'm still a fan but I cannot understand why they would let their fans be treated in this manner!!! They have to know what's going on and hopefully they will correct this on going problem. As for now, I too have purchased my last ZZ Top meet & greet ticket!!!

That's SHAME! Sorry for the misspelling!!

Yes, it's ashame that you and your sons concert experience will not be a good memory. I don't know if ZZ Top reads these blogs (I seriously doubt it) but someone should get word to them about their fans disappointments at their meet & greets or they won't be selling many in the future! Fool me once, same on you! Fool me twice, same on me!!

dallas failure. i have 6 diamond vip front row seats. when i got there they were second row seats. the email said be there at 5 pm for ticket pickup and we assumed meet and greet. it was over 100 degrees in dallas and we got there at 5 pm for NOTHING. NOTHING. we got out tickets and sat for an hour. they wouldnt even let us shop until 6. zztop played at 9:30 pm! then they told us when we picked up our zztop vip tag we have photo op after the band played at 10:40..which the concert was running 30 minutes late so that put it after 11. who wanted to stay after being in the 100+ degrees heat for 5 hours. not only did we have row 1 seats but were given row 2, but when the zztop started the band authorized security to immediately open the front up so we had crazed fans crowding in our seats and in front of us and all around us. i asked security what the hell was going on and he said "its up to the band they open up the front when show starts." i said "why the hell did we buy these high priced seats then. ?" h e just shook his head. it was a ripoff from the 5 pm to the 11 pm ending. and the accoustics sucked. i've a huge fan of zztop and have seen then solo, with kid rock and with lynnard skinnard but i will never go again. this even source is the biggest rippoff i have ever seen. i pay front row for concerts and sporting events monthly. SAVE UR MONEY. ITS A RIPOFF!!!!
