HowZZ does they do thats!
I've been playing guitar for nearly 50 years and have seen lot's of players come and go over the years. Early on I got wind of this kid from Texas called Billy Gibbons and his band called ZZTop, I started to figure out his stuff with the release of Francene back in 1973 I think. That guy played remarkably well and his licks were somewhat difficult to emulate dead on. Oh yeah you could come close but the fine points of his style are difficult to master. Even today I still sit down and figure out his parts as best I can. Many would say I do a solid dead ringer BFG but I know the cracks in my plaster even if others don't seem to notice much. His finger control is unique and I have not heard any other guitarist do his special slow finger vibrato and hand transitions. I keep working on it for god knows what reason, but I have some fun trying. With the release of Texicali I have been given a new batch of ZZ songs to figure out, these tunes are great and still a bit challenging to master. Here's a snippet of me figuring out their new hip hop inspired song 25 Lighters and their previously leaked Flyin High:

New ZZ -- Figuring out Flyin High
They're not perfect yet but I'm working on it.
